Our Caribbean Rum Cakes are inspired by time honoured traditions and recipes which recreate the authentic taste that is a symbol of the islands.

Fruitcake is known around the Caribbean by many different names; Rum Cake, Black Cake, Plum Pudding, Wedding Cake and Christmas Cake. Whichever name it goes by, it reflects hundreds of years of Caribbean history and culture.

Its history began when the recipe for Plum Pudding was brought to the Caribbean by the British who traditionally soaked their fruits in wine and brandy. With the abundance of cane sugar in the Caribbean, rum and molasses became the ingredients of choice which led to the traditional flavour and aroma of the cake we know and love.
